At Young Vision Care, we accept both medical insurance and some vision discount plans. You may have one or both.
-
We will submit both vision and medical claims when appropriate in order to maximize your benefits.
-
Both your vision plan and medical insurance may have co-pays and deductibles, which are due at the time of service.
-
Please provide your insurance cards to our staff.
Medical insurance
(ie. Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicare, etc)
-
Medical insurance can be used any time you encounter a medical eye problem, or have a eye related medical diagnosis such as diabetes, lupus, or multiple sclerosis. Our staff will be able to assist with questions.
-
If additional testing is necessary to evaluate your eye health, these tests will be billed to your medical insurance.
-
Medical insurance MUST be used for medical eye care.
Vision plans
(ie. VSP, Vision Care Direct, EBS, etc)
-
Vision plans only cover routine vision “wellness” exams once every year or two, and may cover eyeglasses and/or contact lenses.
-
Vision plans do not cover medically-related eye problems.
Refraction
(Routine test that measures for prescription)
-
Medicare does not cover this fee as it is for routine eye care. This is usually performed on an annual eye examination. Patient’s are responsible for this fee at the time of their appointment.
