Dr. Dara Latner


Dara Latner began working in the optometric field in 2008 as an optician at a retail company. Over her career, she worked for both private and retail offices and managed multiple teams of opticians until deciding to attend optometry school in 2015.
Dara graduated from Missouri Valley High School in Missouri Valley Iowa in 2006 and completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix in 2010. A few years after earning her bachelor's degree, Dr. Latner decided to return to school to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry and graduated in 2019.
In high school, Dr. Latner enjoyed serving her community when needed, held various roles in both plays and musicals, and played multiple sports. She continues to enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking, attending performances at the theater, and paint ing. During her time at Indiana University, she was active in various clubs and was an assistant instructor for multiple classes. She served the community of Bloomington by offering free vision screenings at various elementary schools in the city with ages ranging from kindergarten to 5th grade.
Dr. Latner will provide routine eye exams for all ages and will continue her work with pediatric patients by providing new services in myopia control. She also provides preventative care and management for eye diseases such as dry eye disease, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. She has experience in prescribing specialty contact lenses involving corneal diseases.
Recently returning to her home state, Dr. Latner looks forward to serving the city of Glenwood and becoming an active member of the community.
